CAMPUS APARTMENTS HIRES TOP INDUSTRY EXECUTIVE, MILES ORTH, AS ITS NEW SENIOR V.P.
Philadelphia, PA - June 27, 2006
Campus Apartments, Inc., the oldest student housing company in the country and a leader in developing, managing and financing upscale housing for colleges and universities throughout the United States, today announced it has hired Miles Orth as its senior vice president of property operations. Orth is joining Campus Apartments' senior management team during a time of accelerated growth for the company. Earlier this month, Campus Apartments announced a billion-dollar venture with GIC Real Estate Pte Ltd (GIC RE), the real estate investment arm of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, which effectively transformed Campus Apartments into one of the largest private student housing companies in the country.
"Miles brings a vast amount of industry knowledge and quite a track record to the table," said David Adelman, president and chief executive officer of Campus Apartments. "We're glad to have him on board as we are undergoing a great deal of growth. We are confident that Miles will help our company execute a large pipeline of deals and explore some significant industry consolidation opportunities."
"I have tremendous respect for Campus Apartments and what they have been able to accomplish over the years," said Orth. "The company is strategic and creative in its approach to business, a trait that has obviously been recognized and rewarded. I look forward to working alongside the senior management team and contributing to its position as an industry leader."
Orth comes to Campus Apartments from College Park Communities, the national student housing company of GMH Communities Trust. As the executive vice president for College Park Communities, Orth oversaw the operation of properties and had a fiscal accountability for a staff of more than 1,000 employees. Throughout his career, Orth has maintained a strong record of taking distressed properties, bringing together teams of successful people and focusing relentlessly on customer satisfaction. Prior to joining GMH, Orth had a number of years' experience in real estate management, including overseeing student housing, conventional apartments, office and retail properties.
